Hobsons’ Dilemma

Description
Extraordinary conflicts arise for Jack Hobson’s family when his ex-lover, Marta, presumed dead, is repatriated after sixteen years of torture and imprisonment. Upon learning that he may be Marta’s only hope for recovery from her near-catatonic mental state, Jack is torn between love for his family and guilt over leaving Marta behind during a blown CIA covert ops mission.

Jack’s wife, Jo, is also torn — between fear of losing her husband to his former lover and empathy for what Marta has been through. Once Jo meets Marta, she is tempted to put aside damage control to take an active part in Marta’s treatment in her capacity as a psychologist.

As Marta’s recovery unfolds, she links together a past treason to a current conspiracy at the highest levels of government and becomes a pawn in a complex web of intrigue and betrayal. Thus the entire Hobson family is thrown into a world of violence and assassination in which they must fight for their lives while somehow resolving their own complex relationships.

This is a first novel in an intended series of novels tracing the Hobson’s extended family as they deal with new action/adventure challenges while coming to terms with an unconventional solution to their emotional dilemma.
